Job summary

St. Mary's Health Care System in partnership with Lifepoint Rehabilitation seeks a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician to serve as Medical Director of its 19-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit in Athens, Georgia.

Lead a collaborative team and maintain a clinical PM&R practice in a patient-centered environment. The Medical Director role offers leadership opportunity with administrative support and a focus on maximizing functional outcomes for patients

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
• Eligible for unrestricted licensure in Georgia.
• Leadership or medical directorship experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the inpatient rehabilitation program.

As Medical Director, you will provide leadership and oversight for the inpatient rehabilitation program, working closely with an interdisciplinary team committed to helping patients regain function, independence, and quality of life following injury, illness, or surgery.

About The Rehabilitation Unit

The St. Mary's Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit provides comprehensive rehabilitation services for patients recovering from:

• Orthopedic conditions and joint replacement recovery
• Debility and complex medical conditions
• Amputation and mobility impairments

The unit focuses on intensive, individualized rehabilitation programs designed to maximize functional outcomes and facilitate successful transitions back to home and community settings.
