Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice in Shreveport, LA is hiring Full-Time Inpatient Hospice Registered Nurses (RN) for 12-hour Night shifts. The Carpenter House team seeks compassionate RNs to assess patients, implement the Plan of Care, and manage acute crises with high-flow oxygen, IV therapy, and palliation.

Requirements include LA RN license, CPR, EMR knowledge, and 2+ years of hospice/acute care experience. ESOP benefits, stock ownership, retirement plans, and PTO are offered.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required in Louisiana.
• Minimum of two years full-time RN experience in oncology, acute care, hospice or home health; two years hospice as an LPN may substitute for RN.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of EMR is required.
• Previous Home Health or Hospice experience preferred.
• Compassionate RN with great time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs the initial and on-going assessment of the patient.
• Assist in developing and implementing the Hospice Plan of Care.
• Provides acute crisis management to hospice patients through high flow oxygen therapy, IV infusion/push, SQ medication delivery and other palliation methods.
• Educate patient and family on Plan of Care, including medication administration, dressing changes, oxygen administration, Hospice philosophy and care of the terminally ill patient.
• Maintain an accurate and updated medical record.
• Abide by company policies and procedures, compliance guidelines, applicable laws, and regulations, promptly reporting any suspected violation of compliance standards.
