The Carpenter Health Network is hiring a Full-Time Inpatient Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) in Gulfport, LA. You will join a team dedicated to compassionate end-of-life care within The Carpenter House, supported by an ESOP ownership model.

Responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessments, creating and implementing the Hospice Plan of Care, crisis management, patient and family education, and meticulous medical record keeping.

Qualifications

• Mississippi RN license is required.
• Minimum of two years full-time RN experience in hospice, oncology, acute care with direct patient care, long-term care, hospice, or home health.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Knowledge of EMR systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Assist in developing and implementing Hospice Plan of Care.
• Provide acute crisis management using high-flow O2, IV meds, SQ meds for palliation.
• Educate patient and family on Plan of Care, medications, oxygen, and hospice philosophy.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; report compliance concerns.

Job Duties

• Performs the initial and on going assessment of the patient
• Assist in developing and implementing the Hospice Plan of Care
• Provides acute crisis management to hospice patients through means of high flow oxygen therapy IV infusionpush SQ medication delivery and other means for palliation
• Educate patient and family on Plan of Care including medication administration dressing changes oxygen administration Hospice philosophy and care of the terminally ill patient
• Maintain an accurate and updated medical record
• Abide by company policies and procedures compliance guidelines applicable laws and regulations promptly reporting any suspected violation of compliance standards

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse RN license required in the State of Mississippi
• Minimum of two 2 years full time experience as an RN either in oncology an acute care setting with direct patient care a long term care facility hospice or home health care
• Two 2 years hospice care experience as an LPN may be substituted for the required 2 years of experience as an RN
• Current CPR certification required
• Current automobile insurance and valid drivers license
• Knowledge of EMR is required
• Previous Home Health or Hospice experience preferred
• Compassionate RN with great time management skills
