Job summary

Inova Health System in Falls Church, VA, is seeking an Inpatient Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant APP (NP/PA) to provide inpatient care on the IHVI Cardiology team. The APP will perform rounds, assessments and manage therapies under physician supervision, focusing on advanced heart failure and transplant patients.

Ideal candidates are board-certified ACNP/AGACNP or PA with Virginia license, prescriptive authority, and BLS/ACLS; cardiology experience is preferred for this demanding role.

Qualifications

• Must be approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Virginia.
• Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.
• BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Providers required with expiration date greater than 90 days from start date.
• Cardiology experience required; prior heart failure experience preferred.
• VA License required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient daily rounds in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Consultations and clinic-based appointments (face-to-face and virtual).
• Patient examinations, medication management, and interpretation of labs/imaging.
• Inpatient coverage at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.
• Maintain top-of-licensure practice in acute hospital setting.
