Job summary

Istss is seeking a full-time Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist to provide vital psychiatric consultation services at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. The role involves comprehensive psychiatric assessments, treatment recommendations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates will have an MD or DO degree, board certification in Psychiatry, and strong communication skills. Qualifications

• Experience or fellowship training in consultation-liaison psychiatry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric consultations for patients on medical and surgical units.
• Evaluate patients who enter the emergency department for psychiatric services.
• Evaluate and diagnose a wide range of psychiatric disorders in the context of medical illness.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management.
• Provide education and support to patients, families, and medical staff.
