Job summary

Deaconess Health System seeks an Inpatient Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment recommendations for medical and surgical patients. The role collaborates with physicians, PMHNPs, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes and support a growing residency program with IU School of Medicine.

Faculty will contribute to curriculum development, didactics, and continuity clinic experiences, with protected time for education supported by the Stone

Qualifications

Experience in inpatient psychiatry consultations and collaboration with hospital teams.
Interest in medical education and residency supervision.

Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric consultations and assessments for hospitalized patients.
Develop treatment recommendations and coordinate behavioral health interventions.
Collaborate with medical, surgical, and specialty teams to support whole-person care.
Assist with complex behavioral health cases, capacity evaluations, and care transitions.
Participate in quality improvement, education, and clinical excellence initiatives.
Weeknight coverage: approximately nine nights per quarter.
Weekend coverage: approximately three weekends per quarter.
