Job summary

Penn Medicine, a leading academic medical center, seeks Clinical Pharmacists to provide comprehensive pharmacy services across hospital areas. You will design, verify and monitor pharmacotherapy, respond to drug-information requests, and supervise pharmacy technicians while upholding patient safety and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include managing medication use, participating in emergencies, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy. (Required)
• PGY1 Pharmacy Residency completed or 2+ years as a licensed pharmacist in an inpatient hospital setting (Strongly preferred)
• Active PA Pharmacist license (Required)
• Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification in Pharmacotherapy preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal pharmacy service to patients and health care professionals by designing, recommending, monitoring, evaluating and documenting patient and age-specific pharmacotherapy.
• Verify, prepare and dispense medications using appropriate techniques to ensure positive outcomes and compliance with policies.
• Respond to drug information requests from health care providers and patients with concise, applicable information.
• Participate in management of medical emergencies and adherence to medication-use policies.
• Supervise and direct the activities of pharmacy technicians.
• Support rapid responses and codes as needed.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and safety in daily responsibilities.
