Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, part of MedStar Health, seeks a Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients with a variety of conditions. The role involves nutrition assessments, education, and therapy planning aligned with hospital standards.

You will collaborate with physicians and the care team, maintain CDR credentials, and be prepared to train in NICU and Pediatrics as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food & Nutrition Science with an accredited dietetic internship (RDE considered).
• Master’s degree required if completed after Jan 1, 2024.

Responsibilities

• Consults with physicians and health professionals regarding patients’ nutritional status and diet plans.
• Formulates nutrition assessment, evaluation, and follow-up plans for at-risk patients.
• Participates in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Cross-train in Neonatal ICU and Pediatrics as needed.
• Provides staff relief and cross-coverage for in/outpatient services.
• Reviews literature and presents to peers in Journal Club.
• Gives formal presentations in specialty areas to professionals or community.
