Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join a collaborative nursing team and assist Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care. You will help with vital signs, mobility, daily needs, and maintaining a safe, welcoming patient environment.

You will support infection control, patient safety, and care plan execution while communicating clearly with patients and families. This role emphasizes empathy, teamwork, and restoring comfort and dignity for each patient.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
