UNC Health Youth Behavioral Health (YBH) in Butner, NC is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for the 4YBH unit. The role supports a multidisciplinary team providing psychiatric, behavioral, medical and psychosocial care to pediatric patients with developmental disabilities.

The unit operates 10 beds with trauma-informed, milieu-based care. The BHT will work on a 4YBH unit within UNC Medical Center, in a 54-bed, 24-hour locked facility.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience in a behavioral health environment.
• Nursing Assistant I certification per North Carolina requirements and CPI within 60 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Aufgaben

• Aid patients in reality orientation and participate in behavior modification; provide de-escalation and safety support.
• Interview patients and families for routine admission data and input information for therapeutic plans.
• Interact with patients one-to-one and in groups to encourage participation and progress.
• Observe, document patient condition and report significant changes to the RN or physician.
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living and assist with transfers and mobility.
• Ensure patient safety; participate in restraining combative patients if necessary and manage seclusion/restraints as required.
• Distribute patient education materials and reinforce instructions from healthcare providers.
