Qualifications

• Supports nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu.
• Ability to monitor vital signs, nutrition, ADL and documentation.
• Adheres to policies, infection control and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to professional standards and Joint Commission requirements.
• Apply supportive behavior to de-escalate patients and use therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventory patient belongings and secure contraband; perform unit safety checks.
• Follow universal precautions and infection control policies; participate in required trainings.
• Carry out patient care activities under supervision of licensed staff; document vitals, ADL, intake and outputs.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and mobility needs; support dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Individualize care to age, disability, and cultural needs of patients.
• Document patient observations and communication with the nursing staff accurately and timely.
• Communicate task outcomes and follow up on patient care with the team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
