Geisinger Behavioral Health in Moosic, PA, is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) for an 8a–8p shift, 36 hours per week with rotating weekends/holidays. The unit is a 96-bed inpatient facility caring for adolescents and adults with behavioral health disorders.

The position offers an hourly rate up to $47/hr DOE with shift differentials and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral or substance abuse nursing a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Provide nursing care within nursing practice standards and facility policies.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed properly.
• Assess patient status continually and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status or emergencies.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
• Maintain professional boundaries and therapeutic rapport with patients.
