Job summary

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (PRN) to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team. You will help patients develop, recover, and improve daily living skills while supporting their mental health treatment journey.

Responsibilities include assessing functional abilities within 72 hours of admission, contributing to the treatment plan, facilitating groups, monitoring progress, and educating patients and families about

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Missouri OT license or eligibility.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• BLS certification or willingness to obtain; flexibility including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities within 72 hours of admission.
• Aid in development of multidisciplinary treatment plan.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups to enhance coping skills and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge recommendations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding therapeutic techniques and resources.
