Job summary

The Bradley Center, the psychiatric and behavioral health arm of St. Francis - Emory Healthcare in Columbus, GA, is seeking a Mental Health Worker to provide supportive care to patients admitted to inpatient behavioral health services.

Under RN supervision, you will assist with ADLs, maintain a safe environment, participate in treatment interventions, document progress, and collaborate with the care team to promote recovery.

Qualifications

• Interact therapeutically with patients while maintaining boundaries.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of behavioral health principles and patient rights.
• Ability to manage stress and respond calmly in emergencies.
• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
• Flexible in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
• Proficient in documenting care in medical records.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Observe and report changes in behavior or condition.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
• Monitor safety, suicide risk, elopement, and restraints per policy.
• Support therapeutic programming and group activities.
• De-escalate and intervene in crisis situations.
• Document patient care and progress in the medical record.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on goals.
• Provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan.
