Job summary

Intermountain Health’s Acute Care Pharmacy team seeks a Pharmacist to support medication therapy for hospitalized patients. You will review orders, verify distributions, and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred candidates have acute care, hospital, or inpatient experience and will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. This role emphasizes safety, education, and adherence to professional standards.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or B.S. in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
• License to practice pharmacy in the state and dispense controlled substances.
• Current knowledge of state and federal regulations for pharmacy practice.
• Effective communication, people management, and project management skills.
• Immunization certification if applicable to practice site needs.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patients’ medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication, therapy appropriateness, and interactions; performs interventions to optimize use.
• Oversees and/or participates in ensuring medications are prepared and delivered timely and stored securely.
• Provides counseling to patients and promotes medication education and adherence.
• Completes regulatory and compliance training and documents requirements; stays compliant with laws and policies.
• Supervises interns, technicians, and support staff; provides clinical consultation to health teams.
• Solves problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
