Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC seeks a licensed teacher for our Virtual Preparatory Academy of Arizona, a K-12 online public school. The role emphasizes delivering live lessons, monitoring progress, and maintaining strong family communication while meeting state accountability goals.

The position requires travel several times per year for in-person state testing and student events, with a focus on differentiation, rigorous instruction, and culturally responsive teaching within a flexible online environment.

Qualifications

• Current State teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Preferred two years’ experience teaching.
• High level of comfort in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• High quality written and verbal communication skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
• Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor.
• Meet goals related to student achievement and culture as well as state accountability goals.
• Deliver live lessons via web conferences based on student need.
• Complete course setup in the Learning Management System.
• Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide daily feedback/grades.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth.
• Collaborate with Principal to create Progress Reports of Students.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Utilize research-based best practices in synchronous and asynchronous teaching.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues; attend in-person state testing and events as required.
