Job summary

The School District of Philadelphia is seeking a classroom teacher to plan and teach their subject area in alignment with the district scope and sequence. You will provide instruction using real-life applications and simulations and integrate technology in the development of lessons and assessments.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree and PA instructional certification (or meet emergency permit requirements). Collaboration with staff and accurate records are essential daily duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate in respective grade level, and endorsements in respective subject area, OR
• Meet requirements to obtain an emergency permit and ability to consistently meet emergency permit requirements until instructional certification can be issued.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach subject area following scope and sequence for all courses.
• Provide instruction using real life applications and simulations and integrate technology.
• Assess student progress and maintain records of attendance and grades.
• Collaborate with staff across disciplines to integrate skills across the curriculum.
• Attend faculty meetings and maintain classroom discipline.
