Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Comprehensive Software Solutions (CSS) Department at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) seeks a Software Engineer to join a collaborative team on challenging projects for ARL sponsors and internal needs.

You will contribute to software development across a range of languages (C/C++, C#, Java, Python) with emphasis on documentation, unit tests, and on-site collaboration at State College, PA.

Qualifications

• Programming in C/C++, C#, Java, or Python.
• Use of version tracking tools – Jira, Git.
• Creativity in problem solving.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a team to develop applications to best fit project needs.
• Maintain version tracking and code documentation.
• Support field testing, including remote or in-person troubleshooting of software systems.
• Rigorously test applications and write unit tests, if required for the project.
