Job summary

Google’s Pixel team seeks a Product Design Engineer to drive the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts for next-generation Pixel devices. You will work in a manufacturing and product-focused environment, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to deliver parts ready for production and integration into consumer products.

The role emphasizes creative problem-solving, strong communication, and solid engineering fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
• 3 years of experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.

Responsibilities

• Design a subsystem or multiple individual parts from concept to production.
• Collaborate with suppliers of subsystems or individual parts throughout the design and manufacturing process.
• Identify the root cause of design, manufacturing, or reliability issues and develop corrective actions.
• Balance design considerations such as functionality, sustainability, reliability, human factors, manufacturability, and aesthetics.
