Job summary

Emerson in Florham Park, NJ is seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer to design, develop, validate, and sustain electronic hardware products including PCBA design and layout for industrial and embedded systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with soldering, component selection, and ECAD tools such as Altium Designer, plus familiarity with EMI/EMC and safety standards. BS in Electrical Engineering preferred; knowledge of industrial protocols is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with electronic hardware or PCBA design and schematic capture.
  • Hands-on soldering, prototype assembly, and hardware debugging.
  • Knowledge of component qualification and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety and EMC compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop analog and digital circuits and PCBA for industrial and embedded systems.
  • Perform schematic capture and PCB layout; Altium Designer a plus.
  • Evaluate and select components considering performance, availability, cost, and lifecycle.
  • Support compliance evaluations for UL, CE, CCC and other global standards.
  • Build and test hardware prototypes and engineering samples.
  • Conduct hardware validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Interface with manufacturing, test, quality, and supply chain teams for releases.
