Job summary

TEGNA Inc. through WBNS-TV C in Columbus is seeking an innovative Producer to shape daily newscasts across platforms. You will craft engaging stories, manage live coverage, and work under tight deadlines with a focus on local, community-centered journalism.

Ideal candidates bring 1-3 years of news content experience, strong storytelling, and solid social media skills. ENPS and Edius experience are a plus as you collaborate with a busy newsroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of news content experience.
• Top-notch communication skills.
• Knowledge of professional journalism tenets.
• Ability to produce engaging, content-driven newscasts.
• Strong social media presence.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Experience with ENPS and Edius preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pitch compelling stories using natural curiosity.
• Show creativity and storytelling skills.
• Craft stories of all lengths for all platforms for specific audiences.
• Meet daily deadlines.
• Combine live pictures, graphics, video and sound to engage viewers.
• Booth continuous coverage on live streams for breaking news and events.
• Proactively try new things after discussing with supervisors.
• Ensure diverse voices and perspectives are represented in the show.
• Use data analytics to shape content and rundown.
