Job summary

BASIS Ed is seeking a Middle School Physics Teacher to join our San Antonio area team. The teacher will prepare and facilitate physics lessons aligned with the BASIS Curriculum, challenge students with higher-level explanations, and collaborate with fellow BASIS educators to maintain a rigorous, internationally competitive program.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in the subject area (or 24+ credit hours) and IVP clearance; teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 24+ credit hours in subject matter with other degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade specific lesson plans.
• Provide instruction at a higher level than grade standard in an interactive environment.
• Implement BASIS Curriculum with effective and creative lessons and assessments.
• Collaborate with BASIS Curriculum teachers to develop curriculum and share best practices.
• Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills to support academic growth.
• Maintain regular, full attendance and professional conduct.
• Support non-instructional functions such as early/late birds and lunch duties.
• Supervise individual students or groups as needed.
