Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. in Tennessee seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design, build, and maintain machines and tooling to maximize efficiency and productivity across manufacturing processes.

You will analyze workflows, plan layouts, select equipment, work with vendors, and support continuous improvement initiatives; a hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skills are essential. BS degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering with 2–5 years of automotive/manufacturing

Qualifications

  • BS Degree or equivalent related experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in automotive/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (CAD, CATIA, NX).
  • Self-starter with strong planning, time management and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes, designs new systems and processes for introducing new products or improving existing ones.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment; conferring with vendors.
  • Prepare manufacturing proposals and estimates including tooling costs and resources.
  • Participates in continuous improvement plans related to responsibilities.
  • Improves efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provides manufacturing cost information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing schedules.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting and summarizing information and trends.
  • Devises new approaches to complex problems through adaptations of standard principles.
  • Ensures compliance with facility standards (ISO, TS, etc.).
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

Job Duties

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Devises new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles.
  • Ensures compliance of practices, procedures and instructions relative to applicable facility standards (ISO, TS, etc.);
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • BS Degree or equivalent related experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience preferable in an automotive / manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Proficiency in engineering computer software (CAD, CATIA, NX etc.)
  • Must be a self-starter able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Strong planning and time management skills.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on a “hands on” approach.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles and practices preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented.
