Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy in Beverly Hills seeks a Mechanech and/or Mechanechet for our Elementary School. The role includes teaching Limmudei Kodesh—Tanach, Mishna, and Torah Sheb’eal Peh—with a Hebrew-immersion Ivrit program.

The ideal candidate will champion student-centered learning, values a strong centrist Orthodox Zionist background, and represent the school at kehilla engagements by giving weekly shiurim and drashot in the broader community.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred.
• Values limmud hatorah as a core personal value.
• Wants to engage in the kehilla beyond the classroom.
• Engagement in a formal school environment as an Educator is preferred.
• Understands 21st century education and student centered learning.
• Exhibits a growth mindset.
• Exhibits a desire to constantly learn and grow on a professional level.
• Ability to integrate technology into the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Teach Limmudei Kodesh including Tanach, Mishna, and Torah Sheb’eal Peh.
• Incorporate Hebrew immersion (Ivrit) into classroom learning.
• Represent the school at kehilla engagements and give weekly shiurim and drashot.
• Support and foster a student-centered learning environment.
