Job summary

Normandy Schools Collaborative in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking an experienced Elementary Library Media Specialist to supervise the school library/media center and support a shared vision for student learning.

You will provide instruction, guide research, collaborate with teachers, manage resources, and foster a learning environment that motivates students to become information literate. A Bachelor’s degree is required; Missouri librarian certificate preferred; starting date: immediately;

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide group instruction and individual guidance to students on locating resources and research techniques.
• Collaborate with teachers to schedule materials for classroom instruction.
• Serve as the information resource for library/media center materials and staff development.
• Plan and manage the library program to meet identified needs and prepare bibliographies and curriculum guides.
• Oversee acquisitions, processing, organizing, distribution, maintenance, and inventory of resources.
• Coordinate development and maintenance of community resource files and media collections.
• Maintain schedules for instructional television programs and promote educational video use.
• Create a library environment conducive to learning and engage students with library programs.
