Job summary

Cortland Biomedical, part of Enerpac Tool Group, is seeking a design-oriented engineer to lead the development of biomedical textile products. The role focuses on design feasibility, customer communication, and rigorous QMS documentation to ensure products meet specifications.

You will work with Sales, Engineering, and Quality teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment, driving projects from concept through approval and transfer to production.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Mechanical, Textile or Biomedical Engineering, or related degree from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience, 10 years+ preferred, in an engineering function within a manufacturing environment - especially in highly regulated industries (medical device, energy, aerospace, automotive, etc.), medical textiles or medical device preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult and guide customers to biomedical textile solutions via braiding, knitting, weaving and post-processing methods.
• Collaborate with Sales & Sales Engineering to gather voice of customer and evaluate new project opportunities.
• Represent Cortland Biomedical as biomedical textile design expert.
• Establish design feasibility for new products and document results.
• Document engineering work in protocols and QMS documentation; mentor junior engineers.
