• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodation for individual student differences.
• Present the subject matter according to TEA guidelines, board policies, and regulations.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media for student needs.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Use technologies in the teaching/learning process.
• Assist in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials.
• Assist students in analyzing and improving study methods.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Sponsoring extracurricular activities as assigned and approved.
• Present a positive role model supporting the school mission.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for student maturity.
• Establish classroom control and administer discipline per policies.
• Protect students through safety precautions.
• Supervise students before, during, and after the school day.
• Promote a positive work environment and staff morale.
• Participate in planning activities to ensure attainment of school mission.
• Assist in selecting/orienting new instructional staff.
• Protect equipment and facilities.
• Maintain open communication lines with students and parents.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
• Present information clearly and accurately.
• Participate in district professional development and show initiative in professional growth.
• Observe professional and ethical standards per TEA ethics code.
• Keep informed of regulations and prepare reports/records as required.
• Attend faculty meetings and participate in committees.
• Perform other duties as needed.
