Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Teacher to provide instruction, manage classrooms, and support student growth at the West Side location. The role requires an Illinois teaching certificate (PEL or ELS) and strong knowledge of curriculum standards.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, maintaining records, and communicating with families. This position may involve attendance initiatives and after-school activities within CPS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate(s) in Illinois.
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching practices.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional lessons and assess pupil progress in line with curriculum objectives.
• Maintain attendance records and communicate with parents/guardians on student progress and conduct.
• Apply contemporary teaching methods and classroom management techniques.
• Participate in in-service trainings, meetings, and school activities as needed.
