Job summary

Rentokil is seeking a Utility Specialist to perform crawl space and attic moisture work, install vapor barriers, operate dehumidifiers, treat fungus, and install vents. You will assist with light construction projects and pest-damage repairs while explaining services to customers to ensure satisfaction.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, working in confined spaces, and following PPE and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass pre-employment background screening.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday and Saturdays as needed.
• Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to follow product label instructions for mixing.
• Customer-facing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in crawl spaces 90% of the day to perform moisture and insulation tasks.
• Assist with light construction and repair tasks related to pest damage.
• Communicate effectively with customers, explaining services and ensuring satisfaction.
• Perform exclusion services and wildlife removal, setting up exclusion traps and following safety protocols.
• Maintain safety in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, and crawl spaces.
• Prepare and complete production forms documenting services provided.
• Operate a motor vehicle under company policy and maintain equipment cleanliness.
• Follow all safety harness and PPE requirements when working on roofs or elevated surfaces.

Essential Job Functions

• Handle animals, insects, and termites safely.
• Work in tight, confined spaces and narrow aisles.
• Set up and build exclusion traps and perform cuts and flashing.
• Remove animals trapped in exclusion devices.
• Use a safety harness when working on rooftops.
• Work with mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and perform sustained force tasks with upper body.
• Operate in a variety of local climates, wearing PPE as required.
• Navigate stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles confidently.
• Use personal protective equipment, including OSHA‑compliant respirators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Successfully complete pre‑employment background screening.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; company vehicle and gas card provided.
• Availability to work Monday‑Friday and Saturdays as needed.
