Job summary

Turner Construction Co. in New York, NY is seeking an Innovation Coordinator to support project teams, conduct research on innovative technologies, and contribute to cross-functional development of solutions for innovation projects.

The role reports to the Innovation Project Manager HQ or Innovation Manager HQ and requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in innovation management or related field. Occasional travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited program in Business, Engineering, Innovation Management, or related field with minimum 2 years of experience in innovation management or related role
• Familiar with bringing new products or services to market and passion for technology innovation
• Commercial construction industry experience is a plus
• Project management skills, highly organized, and able to coordinate concurrent projects
• Comfortable with ambiguity and working through the creative process
• Professional verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support development and Innovation project team activities related to project schedule and track budget and milestones
• Conduct research on innovation technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, ML, robotics) and share summaries with the Innovation team
• Assist with initiatives, workshops, and groups, prepare scope of work documents, and organize project artifacts
• Develop technology requirements to assess proof of concept and prototypes
• Identify training needs and coordinate with Knowledge & Learning Group to schedule sessions
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Description

Coordinate project team activities, conduct research on innovation technologies, and contribute to cross-functional development of solutions for innovation projects.

Reports to

Innovation Project Manager HQ or Innovation Manager HQ

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support development and Innovation project team activities related to project schedule and track budget and milestones. Follow up with project team members on tasks and activities to ensure completion.
• Conduct through research on innovation emerging technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, machine learning, robotics) and maintain knowledge of current trends and related industry developments and develop summaries to share knowledge with Innovation team. May engage with external technology leaders and university partners as directed.
• Assist and engage with Innovation team to support project initiatives, workshops, and groups, contribute to preparation of scope of work documents, create management and documentation structures to organize project artifacts and materials, track project schedules and activities.
• Engage with Innovation team to understand and develop supportive technology requirements to assess proof of concept and prototypes.
• Engage with Innovation management to identify related training needs and coordinate with Knowledge & Learning Group team to develop training schedules and sessions.
• Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited degree program in Business, Engineering, Innovation Management, or related field, advanced degree or Master's Degree preferred, with minimum of 2 years of experience in innovation management, product development, or related role, or equivalent education, training, and experience
• Familiar with bringing new products or services to market and passion for technology innovation
• Commercial construction industry experience a plus
• Project management skills, highly organized, and ability to coordinate concurrent projects

The salary range for this position in NYC is estimated to be $92K - $123K. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
