Pay Range

$50,000.00/yr – $75,000.00/yr

Role Overview
  • Location: Miami, FL (site‑based) – open roles in Miami and Detroit.
  • Employment type: Exempt, full‑time, 40 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Starting April 2025; evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Reports to: Innovation Supervisor, Curriculum Director.
  • Team: Manages employees, interns, and volunteers.
  • Experience: 3+ years in education, youth development, or related field.
Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Design: Work with Senior Innovation Educator and Curriculum Lead/Specialist to develop and innovate the existing curriculum, ensuring alignment with the Immersion Curriculum goals.
  • Curriculum Adaptation: Partner with instructional leadership to adapt core curricula to local site needs.
  • Core Instruction: Teach technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership concepts to the Immersion cohort during summer and school‑year sessions; coordinate Youth Educators and lead activities within Catalyst programming.
  • Training and Facilitation: Facilitate training, convenings, and technical assistance for alumni aspiring to be Youth Educators; train and supervise Youth Educators in advanced programming and classroom support.
  • Role Modeling: Serve as a mentor and role model for participants.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate via email, phone, or mail with participants, parents/guardians, and stakeholders.
  • Ambassador: Act as a dynamic ambassador for The Hidden Genius Project within the community.
  • Support Functions: Assist with event planning, logistics, and community engagement; support national programming as needed.
  • General Staff Duties: Engage and mentor youth, foster a safe inclusive environment, collaborate with internal and external partners, participate in professional development, and perform additional operational tasks such as logistics and crisis response.
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent leadership abilities.
  • High comfort level with technology.
  • Experience working and communicating effectively with underrepresented youth, especially Black and low‑income groups.
  • Experience teaching or studying computer science/programming (Python, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Swift, Flutter, etc.).
  • Intense commitment to the life success of Black males and boys of color.
  • Experience mentoring and working closely with Black male youth.
  • Can‑do attitude and team collaboration.
  • Project management experience; willingness to develop differentiated learning experiences.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, delegate, receive feedback, and engage in continuous self‑improvement.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic, rapidly changing work environment.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with important constituencies.
  • Strong knowledge of youth development models and the nonprofit sector.
  • Commitment to The Hidden Genius Project’s mission and to high expectations.
  • Experience in nonprofit, youth development, education, or technology sectors.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentorship skills.
  • Flexibility for evenings and weekends as required.
  • Understanding of nonprofit dynamics and readiness to perform diverse functions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Experience in the technology industry.
  • Experience in curriculum development, facilitation, or instructional design.
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Previous mentorship of youth from underrepresented communities.

  • Availability to work more than 40 hours per week during evenings and weekends as needed.

Physical Demands and Travel
