Job summary

Pfizer in the United States seeks a senior leader to own the analytical direction of AI‑based workflows, shaping model selection, segmentation, and agent decision logic in concert with Engineering and Governance.

You will mentor data scientists and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver rigorous, defensible analytics that drive business impact across medical and analytical priorities.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Clinical Informatics, or similar
• Experience (8+ years with Bachelor's; 7+ with Master's; 5+ with PhD) in data science, notably in the healthcare sector
• Healthcare/pharma data experience, including claims, EHR, and HEDIS/OMOP frameworks
• Hands‑on experience evaluating and experimenting with LLMs and agentic systems
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects and support the professional growth of colleagues
• Demonstrated effectiveness working in a cross‑functional business environment
• Proven influencing skills and strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport and credibility with Pfizer leaders and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Own model selection and evaluation frameworks for AI-based workflows
• Design cohort and customer/HCP segmentation methodology using real world data sources
• Direct the analytical logic and decisioning behind agentic workflows, ensuring rigor and defensibility
• Partner with the AI/ML Engineer to translate methodology into production-grade agents and pipelines
• Support strategic and tactical planning with regard to medical/analytical priorities
• Collaborate with the Data Architect/Data Analyst to align outputs with data model and quality standards
• Communicate insights and trade-offs clearly to business and technical stakeholders
• Proactively identify new data inputs, techniques, and evaluation approaches to improve workflow quality and adoption
• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior data scientists and data engineering colleagues

Job description

Own the analytical methodology and evaluation rigor behind the Innovation, Data & Analytics team's AI-based workflows, directing model selection, cohort/segmentation science, and agent decision logic in partnership with Engineering and Governance.

Role Responsibilities

Methodology & Analytical Direction

• Own model selection and evaluation frameworks for AI-based workflows

• Direct the analytical logic and decisioning behind agentic workflows, ensuring methodological rigor and defensibility
• Partner with the AI/ML Engineer to translate methodology into production-grade agents and pipelines

Strategic Support & Collaboration

• Support strategic and tactical planning with regard to medical/analytical priorities
• Collaborate with the Data Architect/Data Analyst to ensure analytical outputs align with data model and quality standards

Basic Qualifications
