Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Possess a valid Arizona driver's license by hire date.
• Must pass a thorough background review.
• Preferred: experience in corrections, detention, or law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a professional work environment and collaborates with classification, detention, CHS staff and other agencies.
• Monitors workload and prioritizes classifications to meet court deadlines.
• Researches prior booking, criminal histories and court information per policy.
• Interviews inmates and obtains signatures for classification documents.
• Ensures PREA compliance by conducting inmate questionnaires.
• Distributes the Inmate Information Handbook to inmates.
• Provides risk avoidance counseling and basic justice system information.
• Assigns security classification and sub-classification housing levels in SHIELD.
