TE Connectivity is hiring for an Injection Molding Operator in Greensboro, NC. The role focuses on setting molds, operating molding presses, and ensuring production lines meet quality and efficiency targets.

The candidate should have HS diploma or GED and experience with mold setting, robotics, and measurement tools. This position requires the ability to lift 55 lbs, stand for long periods, and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience setting molds into injection molding machines.
  • Understanding of scientific molding principles (or Decoupled Molding) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of robotics and automation equipment preferred.
  • Ability to operate an injection molding machine.
  • Ability to use measuring devices (calipers, micrometers) and interpret product blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and lift 55 lbs.
  • Pulling and/or pushing molds using a pallet jack or a mold cart.
  • Bending, twisting, turning.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be proficient in the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Perform efficient & safe mold changeovers, including pulling and setting molds and loading robot program to ensure conformance to the Quality Inspection Plan.
  • Perform daily verification of established process parameters.
  • Perform gate seal studies and check ring repeatability tests for process repeatability.
  • Account for purge scrap by weighing and reporting daily.
  • Troubleshoot auxiliary molding press equipment (including automation).
  • Work with Engineering, Mold Shop and Maintenance to keep molds and equipment in optimal condition.

Job Description:

Job Overview

The primary responsibilities of this position include setting molds into injection molding presses and setting up automation and auxiliary equipment in a safe manner, while maintaining quality and productivity requirements. Maintain injection molding presses to standard rate and check product being produced to specified Quality Inspection Plan to assure conformance to requirements.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Perform efficient & safe mold changeovers (this includes pulling and setting molds, plumbing molds for correct water flow, cleaning granulators, setting up blenders, changing End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) and loading robot program and inputting process parameters) to ensure product conforms to Quality Inspection Plan and that it is being produced to a specified rate.
  • Perform daily verification of established process parameters.
  • Perform gate seal studies and check ring repeatability tests to ensure optimal process repeatability.
  • Account for purge scrap by weighing and reporting daily.
  • Troubleshoot auxiliary molding press equipment (including automation).
  • Work closely with Engineering, Mold Shop and Maintenance personnel to ensure molds & equipment are maintained in optimal operating condition.
  • Perform/assist with material changeovers, when needed.
  • Operate Motan material conveying system (answering alarms, cleaning filters, etc.), when needed.
  • Operate molding machine (inspecting, packing parts, etc.) when needed.
  • Complete required paperwork to report production, scrap, press downtime.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of housekeeping in manufacturing area.
  • Responsible for sustaining the mindset that safety is a value, an ethic that guides everything an employee does.

  • Adhere to all company and department guidelines, procedures and policies.

COMPENSATION
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $26-$29.69 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
