Job summary

Viking LLC, a DEMA Company, is seeking an Injection Molding Machine Technician to keep our production floor running smoothly on the first shift in Nesquehoning, PA.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with injection molding equipment in a maintenance or troubleshooting role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, or technical specs.
• Self-motivated, reliable, able to work independently or on a team.
• Good attendance and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start up, and operate injection molding machines and mold-changing equipment for production.
• Install molds and adjust to keep quality targets.
• Monitor machine performance and part quality; perform process changes as needed.
• Troubleshoot downtime quickly to keep product flowing.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Conduct mold changes, including cleaning, lubricating, inspecting molds per schedule.
• Keep accurate documentation of process changes and equipment concerns.
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production area.

What You'll Do

• Set up, start up, and operate injection molding machines and mold-changing equipment for production
• Install molds and make adjustments to keep quality standards on target
• Monitor machine performance and part quality, making process changes as needed
• Troubleshoot issues quickly to minimize downtime and keep product flowing
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs
• Conduct mold changes, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting molds, per the production schedule

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience with injection molding equipment in a technical, maintenance, or troubleshooting role (1+ year preferred - but if you've got strong mechanical aptitude and are eager to learn, we encourage you to apply)
• Comfort using hand tools, mechanic's tools, and basic equipment maintenance skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or technical specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills - you notice when something's off and know how to figure out why
• Self-motivated and reliable; you work well independently and as part of a team
• Good attendance and a reputation for showing up and following through

Physical Requirements

This role is active and hands-on. It involves standing for extended periods, working in varied positions, and lifting up to 55 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation. You'll be working around machinery, so expect some noise and temperature variations. Standard PPE is provided.
