Job summary

Empire Precision Plastics is seeking a Process Technician to support daily operations on the manufacturing floor. The role requires verifying setup, tooling, process and material status, and ensuring visual and documented compliance with the master process.

You will maintain a safe and clean environment, help with problem solving, containment, and workflow efficiency, and participate in continuous improvement projects on tooling and processes.

Responsibilities

• Verify setup to replicate the documented master process.
• Inspect mold temperature control lines for safe operation.
• Replicate Master Process and verify outputs meet quality specifications.
• Complete startup documentation accurately.
• Enter startup scrap into IQMS.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and proper containment.
• Set alarms and quality limits per Master process.
• Respond to machine alarms and identify root causes.
• Document equipment or tool maintenance as needed.
• Suggest hardware or process improvements to boost efficiency.
• Suggest tool engineering changes to improve quality and productivity.
• Assist or replace team members to maintain production schedule.

Job description

The Process Technician is responsible for the daily performance of the manufacturing floor. This includes verification of setup, tooling, process, material and visual acceptance of all jobs starting and in process. The Process Tech will help maintain a safe and clean working environment. They will also help continuous improvement with problem solving for tooling, containment, and work flow efficiency.

Essential Functions

• Ensure job is set up as documented to replicate the documented master process.
• Inspect condition of mold temperature control lines to ensure safe operation.
• Replicate the Master Process and verify the process outputs are within the limits defined in the Master. Document that the process running replicates the Master making parts per the quality specifications.
• Complete all required start-up documentation completely and accurately.
• Count and enter startup scrap into IQMS.
• Ensure part containment is robust to eliminate loss of parts or contaminated parts.
• Set alarm and quality limits per Master process.
• Set molding process per documented process sheets.
• Respond to machine alarms as they occur using a troubleshooting mindset to identify alarm root cause and return process to the master. Ensure all non-conforming parts are captured and reported as scrap.
• Write‑up equipment or tool maintenance as required.
• Recommend equipment and process improvements to increase efficiency, decrease down time, improve safety, or reduce costs.
• Recommend tool engineering changes to enhance part quality, tool performance and/or productivity.
• Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
• Follow company safety policies and special equipment safety practices as needed.
• Assist or replace other team members as needed to ensure production schedule is maintained.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
