Job summary

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable professional to provide in-home support for youth with autism in a family-centered setting. This role is focused on building meaningful connections, encouraging positive routines, and supporting each child’s development through individualized, strengths-based care. Basic to intermediate American Sign Language (ASL) skills are required to help promote clear communication within this particular client's family.

This is a Part-Time position. Total hours are variable and coordinated based on client needs and staff availability, offering a highly flexible schedule. Primary service hours align with after-school (afternoon/evenings) and weekends with expanded schedules during school breaks/summer.

What You Will Do
  • Provide in-home support to youth with autism in collaboration with families and care teams.
  • Use basic to intermediate ASL to communicate, support understanding, and promote consistency.
  • Implement and collaborate for individualized support strategies and follow established care plans.
  • Encourage social, emotional, communication, and daily living skill development.
  • Support positive behavior strategies and help maintain a safe, structured environment.
  • Document observations, progress, and relevant session details accurately.
  • Communicate professionally with caregivers and team members regarding needs, progress, and concerns.
What We Are Looking For
  • Basic to intermediate ASL proficiency required.
  • Experience supporting children, youth, or individuals with autism preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a calm, supportive approach.
  • Ability to follow care plans, take direction, and work independently in a home setting.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent support.
  • Comfortable maintaining professional boundaries and respecting family routines.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in behavioral support, special education, paraprofessional work, or direct care.
  • Knowledge of autism support strategies and trauma-informed, person-centered practices.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain if required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
