Job summary

Barnes Healthcare is seeking an Infusion Pharmacy Technician to support the daily operations of our infusion pharmacy, collaborating with pharmacists to prepare and dispense medications while ensuring compliance and patient care excellence.

This role requires a state-registered technician license (PTCB preferred) and a high school diploma; you will uphold policies, maintain records, and assist in insurance processing. We offer strong benefits and a culture of compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State registered pharmacy technician license required.
• PTCB National Certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Models and upholds Barnes culture and mentors others.
• Assists the pharmacist with preparation and dispensing of medications per policies and laws.
• Performs daily functions essential to patient care and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Ensures all pharmacy surfaces and clean rooms are cleaned per policy.
• Maintains prescription and inventory records; prepares labels and packs supplies.
• Resolves prescription inquiries and processes questions from patients.
• May process insurance claims and provide prescription receipts.
• Complies with governing bodies (GABOP, DEA, ADAP, etc.).
• Other related duties as assigned.

Infusion Pharmacy Technician Essential Functions

• Models and holds others accountable to the Barnes culture and acts as a coach and mentor for others in the organization.
• Assists the pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws/regulations.
• Administers recurring or daily functions or processes necessary for patient care and identifies opportunities for improvement or efficiencies.
• Ensures all pharmacy surfaces, laminar flow hoods and clean room are cleaned per company policy.
• Maintains records on prescriptions and inventory, picks and packs medical supplies to fill patient orders and prepares labels.
• Resolves problems related to prescription inquiries.
• May process insurance claims and provide detailed prescription receipts.
• Operates in compliance with all governing bodies (GABOP, DEA, ADAP, etc.).
• Other related duties as assigned.
