Job summary

Amerita, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Production in Totowa, NJ to join our home infusion pharmacy team. The role reports to the Pharmacy Manager and involves preparation, labeling, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals with a focus on aseptic preparation and compliance with USP 797/800.

This full-time position offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician training program; IV certification preferred
• Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of practice
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by the state board of pharmacy
• 1–3 years of related pharmacy experience in a home care setting
• At least 1 year of aseptic preparation of infusion-related pharmaceuticals in a hospital or home infusion setting

Responsibilities

• Helps coordinate patient care activities with Pharmacists, Nurses, access team, and other Technicians
• Prepares labels, prescriptions and compounding/mixing worksheets and completes and maintains product lot numbers, expiration dates and batch records
• Documents all temperature logs, pressure and humidity monitors, records all sterility testing done in the clean room in compliance with company policies and procedures, and USP 797 and USP 800 standards. Documents all activities on the appropriate logs
• Participates in branch management, department and intra-departmental meetings and quality improvement activities
• Coordinates and schedules the preparation of sterile mixtures and home medical equipment orders with the assistance of the Pharmacist
• Adheres to all accreditation, OSHA, FDA, state, local and federal regulations and standards relevant to infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment
• Other duties as assigned
