Job summary

The START Center for Cancer Research in West Valley City, Utah is hiring an Infusion Nurse to deliver direct patient care to participants in oncology trials. You will administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy per protocol, perform venipuncture and IV management, and educate patients on trial participation and potential side effects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in practicing state.
• 2–4 years of peripheral IV insertion and venous access device management.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy/immunotherapy/investigational agents per protocol.
• Perform venipuncture, blood collection, IV insertion, venous access device management, ECG, and vital signs.
• Educate patients about trial participation and potential side effects.
• Coordinate with study team to ensure procedures, drug administration, labs, vitals, and ECG are completed.

We are seeking anInfusion Nurse. TheInfusion Nurseis responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals who are participants in research protocols that are conducted at START. TheInfusion Nurseuses appropriate professional judgment and decision-making in planning and providing care.

Work Schedule: 4 X 10 shift -7:00am-3:30pm -M-F

Patient Care

• Administer chemotherapy/immunotherapy/investigational agent to participants (inclusive of parenteral) according to the protocol and applicable regulations.
• Perform study-related activities including but not limited to venipuncture, obtaining blood specimens, IV insertion, and venous access device (central line) management, ECG collection, and vital signs.
• Provide patient education regarding participation in a clinical trial, chemotherapy/immunotherapy/investigational agent administration and potential side effects.
  

Protocol management tasks

• Work with study team to ensure that study related procedures, drug administration, labs, vital signs and ECG are completed.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in practicing state.
• 2 - 4 years of experiencein peripheral IV insertion and management of venous access device(s).

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor's degree.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification.
• Clinical Trial and oncology experience.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Teams, Excel and Word.
