St. Thomas Rheumatology Consultants PLLC in Nashville is seeking a compassionate Infusion Nurse (RN) with infusion experience to join our outpatient infusion team. The role focuses on safe administration of IV biologics and patient education in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

The ideal candidate has TN RN licensure, at least 2 years of infusion experience, and proficiency with EMR systems. We offer competitive pay, a collaborative setting, and no weekends or major holidays.

Competenze

• Active Tennessee RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience; infusion/rheumatology or related infusion setting preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Mansioni

• Administer IV biologic and infusion medications per orders and protocols.
• Assess patients before, during, and after infusions for reactions or complications.

• Establish and maintain peripheral IV access.

About Us

St. Thomas Rheumatology Consultants is a growing, patient-centered rheumatology practice dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) with infusion experience to join our infusion team.

Position Summary

The Infusion Nurse is responsible for providing safe, high-quality infusion therapy to rheumatology patients in an outpatient clinic setting. The ideal candidate is organized, clinically skilled, and committed to delivering excellent patient care while maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer IV biologic and infusion medications according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Assess patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions or complications.
• Monitor vital signs and document all treatments accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Start and maintain peripheral IV access.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, infusion procedures, and possible side effects.
• Respond appropriately to infusion reactions and medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate medication inventory and ensure compliance with medication storage and handling guidelines.
• Follow infection prevention, OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic safety standards.
• Assist with scheduling, prior authorizations, and other clinical duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in infusion therapy, rheumatology, oncology, gastroenterology, or a specialty infusion setting.
• Proficient in IV insertion and venous access.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and patient education skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Biologic infusion administration.
• Knowledge of infusion reactions.
• Knowledge of rheumatologic medications and autoimmune diseases.
