The Center For Rheumatology, LLP in New York State is seeking a qualified NYS RN to administer IV infusions, access implanted chest ports, and manage related documentation in a professional office setting.

This full-time role requires BLS and CPR certification, 1–2 years of experience, and excellent patient communication. Daily tasks include monitoring patients, recording logs, and adhering to office protocols.

Qualifications

  • NY State RN license required and current.
  • BLS and CPR certifications.
  • 1–2 years’ infusion experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical practice software and office systems.
  • Ability to document and chart patient care accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Start and maintain peripheral IV lines, access chest ports for infusion, and administer injectable medications.
  • Ensure informed consent is signed and patients understand transfusion risks and benefits.
  • Maintain infusion/transfusion logs and patient tickler files.
  • Document medications ordered by the provider.
  • Chart assessments and interventions in the patient’s record.
  • Maintain and record drug counts at start and end of day.
  • Handle emergency adverse reactions during infusions.
  • Multi-task, monitor patient condition, notify staff of changes, provide skilled nursing services.
  • Maintain clinical and billing records in compliance with practice protocols.
  • Adhere to prescribing guidelines and office protocols.
  • Update training and self-study on administration of medications, patient assessment and counseling.

Qualifications and Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Medical Practice Software, Windows, and Microsoft Office.
  • 1-2 years’ experience required.
  • IV insertion a plus.
  • Basic Life support (BLS).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR).
  • Must have excellent written and verbal customer service skills in order to interact with the patient, physician, pharmacist and other partners.
Required Education And Experience

NYS RN license required; experience with IV infusion administration preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
