Job summary
Amerita, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Compounding to join our pharmacy team as we grow to be a top home infusion provider. The technician will report to the Pharmacy Manager and work in our City, State branch.
Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm. Responsibilities include sterile/non-sterile compounding, documentation, and adherence to all regulations. Healthcare benefits and career progression opportunities are available.
Qualifications
- Completed an approved Pharmacy Technician program; IV certification preferred.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of practice.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by state board.
- 1-3 years of related pharmacy experience; home care or retail preferred.
- At least 1 year of aseptic preparation of infusion-related pharmaceuticals preferred.
- Flexible schedule with on-call evenings/weekends.
- Basic ability to read/interpret prescriptions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and schedules preparation of sterile mixtures and home medical orders with pharmacist.
- Performs required calculations for product preparation.
- Compounds sterile and non-sterile preparations following aseptic technique.
- Ensures clean room areas and equipment comply with USP 797/800.
- Documents activities on logs; participates in quality improvement activities.
- Adheres to regulations and maintains logs for temperature and sterility testing.
