Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Florida RN license (BSN preferred).
  • Infusion skills including IV insertion and safe biologics administration.
  • Outpatient infusion, oncology, or specialty infusion experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and triage abilities.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation.
  • Excellent communication with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Administer IV and injectable medications per orders and protocols.
  • Monitor patients during and after infusions; respond to adverse reactions.
  • Obtain vital signs and perform clinical assessments.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and side effects.
  • Coordinate appointments and follow-up care with care team.
  • Uphold infection control standards and contribute to quality improvement.

Sage Infusion is a patient-focused, full-service medical specialty infusion center serving individuals with autoimmune disorders and chronic illnesses such as MS, RA, Crohn’s, UC, TED, Alzheimer’s, Osteoporosis, and Lupus. The center offers extended hours, including weekends, to support patients’ diverse scheduling needs. Sage Infusion manages Medicare and all major commercial health insurance plans to help reduce barriers to care. The organization serves patients across the Tampa Bay and Central and Southwest Florida regions and is committed to delivering safe, comfortable, and efficient infusion experiences.

Role Description

The Infusion Care Nurse is a part-time, on-site role based in Orlando, FL. This role is responsible for administering intravenous and injectable medications according to provider orders and established protocols, monitoring patients during and after infusions, and responding promptly to any adverse reactions. Day-to-day tasks include performing clinical assessments, obtaining vital signs, maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the medical record, and ensuring adherence to infection control and safety standards. The Infusion Care Nurse will collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other care team members, educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and potential side effects, and support the coordination of appointments and follow-up care. The role also involves maintaining a calm, patient-centered environment and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida; BSN preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical infusion skills, including IV insertion, venipuncture, and safe administration of biologics and specialty medications.
  • Experience with patients who have autoimmune or chronic conditions (e.g., MS, RA, Crohn’s, UC, Lupus) in an outpatient, infusion, or hospital setting.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and triage abilities to recognize and respond to infusion reactions and changes in patient status.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), documentation, and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, infection prevention, and compliance with clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to work extended and flexible hours, including weekends, and to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS certification and infusion therapy certification are beneficial.
  • Previous outpatient infusion center, oncology, or specialty infusion experience is a strong plus.
