Job summary

Motion Recruitment seeks a Utilities Supervisor to lead MEP budget development, supervise electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related trades, and drive energy efficiency across resort facilities. The role includes coaching staff, ensuring safety, and coordinating with utilities for reliable service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; AA degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience; 5-7 years combined operations/maintenance experience.

  • Supervises Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Alarm maintenance and repairs.
  • Coaches and counsels utility trade technicians and delivers performance evaluations.
  • Establishes energy conservation goals to reduce utility costs across systems.
  • Coordinates with utilities and agencies to ensure reliable service and regulatory compliance.

Job description

***This Role starts as a 6 month contract and could extend or convert FTE after***

Responsibilities
  • Develops and communicates resort wide MEP maintenance & utilities annual budgets for utility departments. Supervises all Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electronic Control and Fire Alarm work such as routine, quick calls, preventative & predictive maintenance, discretionary and emergency repairs.
  • Coaches and counsels all utility trade technicians. Develops, reviews and delivers employee performance evaluations as well as personnel development plans.
  • Supervises routine utilities maintenance, PM schedules, and operations. Ensures all emergency work and repairs are being performed. Ensures safety related items are completed as soon as possible. Coordinates activities with other Utilities Supervisors.
  • Establishes, implements and monitors site wide energy conservation goals and initiatives. Strives to reduce utility costs as they relate to Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing and Environmental equipment and operations. Ensures inspections and adjustments are performed on all utility controls to achieve maximum equipment efficiency and reduces variable operational costs as they apply to monthly billing cycles.
  • Communicates with utilities and government agencies to secure reliable service, cost effective rates, and meet or exceed all applicable regulatory responsibilities.
  • Assists and coordinates, as requested through work orders, with ride & show and facility maintenance on all utilities / M.E.P. issues to ensure ride / venue readiness, reliability and maximum operational availability.
  • Performs other M.E.P. and supervisory duties as assigned by the Manager, Utilities.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or GED. (Required) Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. (Preferred)

Experience:

Experience: 3-5 Years: Supervisory experience required in conjunction with 5-7 Years: (Required) Combination of operation and maintenance of Industrial / Commercial Utilities systems & components and associated auxiliary equipment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS:

(Required): Licensed as one or more of the following: Journeyman Electrical, Journeyman Plumber, HVAC License A or B and Universal Refrigerant Handling EPA Certification (Preferred): Contractor license as one or more of the following: Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing (Preferred): Government or military Utility trade designation or certification.
