Job summary

Blue Signal Search is seeking an Infrastructure Hardware Specialist to install, configure, and deploy server, networking, and storage hardware in lab and data center environments.

You will perform rack installations, cabling, and equipment relocations, while providing on-site support for diagnostics and hardware verification. The role emphasizes hardware troubleshooting, inventory management, and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting server and networking hardware in production data centers or labs.
• Strong troubleshooting across server hardware, firmware, remote management platforms, and components.
• Working knowledge of Linux systems and command line diagnostics.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including Ethernet, TCP/IP, switches, routers, and structured cabling.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deploy server, networking, and storage hardware in lab and data center environments.
• Perform rack installations, cabling, hardware upgrades, and equipment relocations.
• Provide on-site technical support with diagnostics, hardware verification, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues related to initialization, firmware, and remote management interfaces.

Focus:

• Perform installation, configuration, and deployment of server, networking, and storage hardware within laboratory and data center environments.
• Execute rack installation, structured copper and fiber cabling, hardware upgrades, component replacements, and equipment relocations.
• Provide on site technical support for engineering teams by performing diagnostics, hardware verification, console access, and physical troubleshooting activities.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues involving system initialization, firmware, remote management interfaces, networking, and component failures.
• Support inventory management, equipment receiving, asset tracking, documentation, and return material authorization activities while maintaining accurate system records.
• Assist with deployment and maintenance activities involving advanced cooling technologies and other specialized infrastructure systems.
• Coordinate with vendors, internal engineering teams, and facility personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption.
• Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive hardware, prototypes, and customer related equipment.

Skills:

• Experience supporting server and networking hardware within a production data center, integration lab, or similar technical environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across server hardware, firmware, remote management platforms, and hardware components.
• Working knowledge of Linux systems and command line diagnostics.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including Ethernet, TCP IP, switches, routers, and structured cabling practices.
• Experience working with both copper and fiber optic infrastructure.
• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated success maintaining inventory accuracy and detailed technical documentation.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Preferred qualifications include experience supporting GPU infrastructure, liquid cooled systems, automation or scripting, and large scale hardware deployments.
