A client of Insight Global is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain a secure VMware-based virtual infrastructure in a datacenter environment in Largo, FL. This role focuses on managing ESXi hosts, virtual machines, and vCenter, while monitoring system performance, troubleshooting complex issues across virtualization, networking, and operating systems, and ensuring compliance with security requirements. Responsibilities include installing and configuring servers, maintaining DISA STIG compliance, performing patching and backups (with occasional off‑hours support), supporting virtual networking and high‑availability clusters, documenting system changes, and assisting with security compliance, vulnerability remediation, and accreditation efforts. This position is ideal for an early‑career infrastructure professional applying foundational knowledge while collaborating with a technical team under moderate supervision.

Required Skills & Experience

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 2–6+ years of experience (2+ years with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years without a degree)
• Foundational knowledge of virtualization, networking, and secure system administration
• Hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, virtual machines, virtual networking)
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy)
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, subnetting)
• Experience with security compliance and remediation in controlled or classified environments

Compensation

$40-50 per hour.
