Job summary

Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects in Los Angeles is seeking a structural engineer to design, review, and oversee complex building projects onsite at client sites.

You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to prepare structural plans, cost estimates, and QA plans, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines and delivering safe, economical infrastructure solutions for public and private sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or civil engineering with specialization in structural courses.
  • Three years of full-time professional structural engineering experience.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare structural design plans and specifications for various structures.
  • Perform contract administration and review of structural engineering services.
  • Develop cost estimates and QA plans for construction, maintenance and operation.
  • Review structural calculations and ensure conformance to standards.
  • Onsite work at client location to support delivery and client relationships.

THE WORK:


  • You'll perform moderately complex structural engineering work to include the preparation, analysisand review of design plans, specifications, estimates and reports to comply with guidelinesset by both federal, state and local agencies.

  • You'll perform contract administration in the review of structural services required of engineeringconsultants and architects and make appropriate revisions and recommendations.

  • You'll prepare structural design plans and specifications, quality assurance plans, conceptual anddetailed cost estimates and other reports necessary for the construction, maintenance andoperation of various concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry, metal, timber structures andother related materials.

  • You'll assist in the review of project status, initiates changes and provides advice and assistanceto structural designers and other engineering and design staff.

  • You'll assist in the review of structural plans and specifications, design and mathematical calculations in the completion of structural engineering projects and assignments as well ascreating cost and expenditure requirements for alternate means of construction.

  • You'll assist in the review of completed structural work for conformance to recognized standardsand feasibility of construction as well as completeness and accuracy.

  • You'll assist in the design and layout of foundation, floor, wall and roof framing plans for majorbuilding structures.

  • You'll make recommendations to contractors, architects, engineers and construction inspectors onstructural issues during construction.

  • You'll analyze environmental impact reports, negative declarations and soils tests data to makeappropriate recommendations for foundation design.

  • You'll prepare feasibility reports and preliminary design for proposed structures and facilities underconstruction.

  • You'll perform site investigations and prepare scoping reports and recommendations.

  • Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.


$161,000 - $177,000 a year


Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia or Washington as set forth below.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:


  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in structuralengineering or civil engineering with specialization on structural engineering courses

  • Three (3) years full-time paid professional structural engineering experience


BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:


  • Possession of a Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) recognized by the State of CABoard of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists is preferred

  • Emphasis on school building construction is preferred
