Job summary

Amazon is seeking Infra Delivery Install Technicians to help transform our data centers by installing and cabling equipment, ensuring safety standards, and supporting 24/7 operations at various sites. You will travel to different data centers and work with cross-functional teams on hands-on hardware installation and troubleshooting.

The role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, flexibility for shifts including nights and weekends, and willingness to relocate or travel as needed within the region.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in data center, critical environment, hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, or data center operations.
• 2+ years of network cabling, fiber optics, and test equipment including VFL, power meter, and OTDR.
• Experience with copper and optical fiber cabling, switches and routers.

Responsibilities

• Move and install large enterprise equipment across data center facilities.
• Install fiber and copper cabling and patching between equipment.
• Ensure safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation.
• Follow established hardware installation procedures and break/fix activities.
• Safely use material handling tools and travel to various sites as required.

Infra Delivery Install Technicians will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, troubleshoot complex technical scenarios, and implement strategic solutions that keep our network running seamlessly. Key job responsibilities

• Moving and implementing large enterprise equipment
• Installing Fiber and Copper cabling and patching cabling between equipment
• Ensuring proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation
• Following well established hardware installation procedures and break‑fix activities
• Safely using material handling tools and equipment
• Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required

Physical Requirements:

• All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
• Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed
• Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
• Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

This role supports data centers in various operational stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational.

Essential Requirements

• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational
• Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility

Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience, or experience in similar technical roles
• 2+ years of network cabling, fiber optics, and test equipment including VFL, power meter, and OTDR experience
• Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an IT‑related field (e.g., Computer Science, Network Engineering), or experience in professional or military IT‑related roles
• certification in a relevant field (CCENT - Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician, Network+, or CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate)
• Experience conducting behavioral interviews and hiring
• Experience in a data center or other critical environment
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
