Job summary

Sherpa 6 is seeking an Information Security Specialist to maintain the security posture of internal information systems and ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks. You will work with Security, IT, leadership, and compliance teams to support vulnerability management, incident response and audit readiness.

The role requires hands-on experience with enterprise security tools, including vulnerability management, logs, endpoint security, and data protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, cybersecurity or related field.
• 3–5 years of information security or cybersecurity operations experience.
• Experience with Microsoft security technologies and vulnerability management.
• Experience with log aggregation, SIEM, and enterprise Windows/Linux security.

Responsibilities

• Manage system vulnerabilities with scanning, prioritization and remediation.
• Support patching and configuration enforcement through endpoint management.
• Monitor information systems, ensure audit logs are collected and reviewed.
• Analyze logs from endpoints, servers, identity systems and cloud services.
• Configure alerting and automated response for security events.
• Perform incident response and reporting for cybersecurity events.
• Maintain POA&M and track remediation to closure.
• Ensure security documentation is current and audit-ready.
• Assist in developing security policies, standards, and controls.
• Review security impact of system changes during change control.
• Recommend security configurations across Microsoft 365, endpoints and identity platforms.
• Conduct user activity monitoring and investigations into insider threats.
• Run security awareness initiatives and phishing simulations.
• Prepare reports on vulnerabilities, incidents and overall security posture.
